The Siege and the Sandfox is a ‘Stealthvania’ – an infusion of stealth into the familiar Metroidvania experience, creating a unique twist on the ever-popular genre. Lovingly realised in an evocative 2D art style, enriched with the power of Unreal Engine 4; we’re building a beautiful world for our players to enjoy… from the shadows.
Cardboard Sword was formed in 2013 by LittleBigPlanet PS Vita producers Aidan Howe and Olly Bennett. Spending the first two years of the company's life raising capital through consultancy while concepting a number of game ideas, they finally expanded the team and settled on The Siege and the Sandfox in late 2015.
Now a permanent team of 5, with additional part-time developers and a host of talented contractors, including Talespinners, Cardboard Sword have entirely shifted their focus on developing their new game. After receiving the first round of the UK Games Fund and the Unreal Developer Grant, they have now partnered with Chucklefish.
